When we do a roof replacement on a roof pitched below a 4/12, this one is a 3/12, we use ice and water shield and a full layer of synthetic roofing underlayment to cover the roof completely as added protection per manufacturer's specs. We also maximized their ventilation system by adding undereave vents and B144 vents to make sure the attic space and the sheeting can "breathe" freely, without concerns about mold developing due to inadequate ventilation. We inspect attics on all of our roof replacements to make sure the new roof we install will be sustained for years to come.
